Senator Shehu Sani Speak out, Says INEC Chairman not dead

In the early hours of Saturday 14, December 2024, rumors spreading the internet has it that the chairman of the Independent National Electoral commission, Prof. Yakubu died in a hospital in London.

However, several political heads and senators has come out to debunk the rumor stating that the news was fake as some even claimed to have spoken spoken with Prof. Yakubu.

Senator Shehu Sani, who represents Kaduna Central in the eighth National Assembly, react expressly on his X handle, debunking the rumor and says; An online media reported that the INEC chair is dead, I saw him in White. May be it's the ghost.

In a swift response regarding the rumor, The Independent National Electoral Commission, through its press secretary, Rotimi Oyekanmi also dismissed the fake news stating that it's Chairman, Prof. Yakubu is alive, hale and hearty and has not leave Nigeria to London for over two years.
